Take Over!

Photo by Luis Quintero on Pexels.com

You are walking around, looking all beautiful or handsome. Nobody knows, they cannot see, how haggard you are on the inside. All they see is what you present on the outside. They see the smile, the joy, the kindness, the compassion, the strength and the patience. They don’t understand that it took God to build those virtues inside you, that they so easily enjoy, and sometimes take for granted. Nothing about you shows that you are about to run dry of those virtues. You are tired, because while you give those virtues to the world so generously, your own world appears to be falling apart, bit by bit, piece by piece. You don’t show the world, you don’t take your pain and agony out on the world. You refuse to consciously hurt others as an outlet of your own agony. Deep down you know that this is not the time to crumble, this is the time to ask God to take over.

You allow very few, the closest, to peek into your crumbling world, and to the rest you keep up a high spirit, laughing with them, urging them, uplifting and encouraging them, because even in your quagmire, you have a grace upon you, you have purpose built and flowing through you. They keep you focused, strong and unbending. But you are beginning to feel yourself cracking, the weight too heavy to bear. You need another level of grace, another level of joy. You need to dig deeper and speak a language that only God can understand, without you even having to move your lips. And your cry is a deep yearning for God to take over. Take over. Take over. Let Him take over, before you do something stupid.  Don’t be ruled by your emotions and make a bigger mess.

You are breathless, darkness seems to be crowding in. Your fingers are slipping, your mind is losing its grip. Yet you are steadfast, yet out of that darkness you know light will come and shine through, and you remain anchored, because greater is are the purpose and the spirit that are in you, than this current demise. Somehow, you know that this is not the time to give up, this is not the time to throw in the towel, but this is the time to give more, to smile deeper, to be kinder, to keep a steady mind. Your life and the lives of others depends on it. This is when you cry out, God, take over! Spirit take over! Jesus, take over! Undo me, and take me to the next level. Here I am.

You know, that even when it all appears nonsensical and crazy, and that it would be easier to fall victim to, to succumb to your challenges and allow them to consume you, you refuse to do so. Why? Because there is a higher calling, there is a higher place, there is a Higher Being Who will take over, take over, take over!  He knows your capacity, He knows how much you can endure, and He uses what you are going through to stretch you. And when you say its enough, He is really just getting started, because He knows more than anyone else, even more than you, the treasures He has put inside you. He knows the gem that you truly are. He allows the fire of life to cook you, He permits the pressures to form you, and in your humanity the effect is too much on the mind, spirit, body and soul. Let Him take over.

You are in the palm of His victorious right hand. He does not sleep, He does not get distracted, He is not confused, and nothing takes Him by surprise. He knew that this day would come and before you were even born, He was ready and well prepared. So ask Him to, take over, take over, take over. Be still, don’t try to fix it, given your emotions, you likely will make a mess of things. Through this extreme discomfort, you are birthing futures, destinies, as God’s plans, blueprint and purpose, unfold in you and through you, for your sake and for the sake of others. Don’t resist, flow with it. Don’t push back, rest in it. Don’t miss this very painful but glorious realm, don’t turn your back on it, don’t walk away from it, for there is a glory indescribable, there is a joy unspeakable, there are unimaginable destinies being delivered out of your painful patience. Believe it!

Only deeper wisdom, a mightier strength, an all knowing mind, an all seeing eye, can transform and transcend you into the next level of purpose. So let Him take over. Take over. Take over. You will be the better, and not the worst for it.

5Why am I discouraged?

Why is my heart so sad?

I will put my hope in God!

I will praise him again—

my Savior and 6my God!

Now I am deeply discouraged,

but I will remember you—

even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan,

from the land of Mount Mizar.

7I hear the tumult of the raging seas

as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.

8But each day the LORD pours his unfailing love upon me,

and through each night I sing his songs,

praying to God who gives me life.

9“O God my rock,” I cry,

“why have you forgotten me?

Why must I wander around in grief,

oppressed by my enemies?”

10Their taunts break my bones.

They scoff, “Where is this God of yours?”

11Why am I discouraged?

Why is my heart so sad?

I will put my hope in God!

I will praise him again—

my Savior and my God!

The Master Craftsman’s Time and Season

Photo by Na Urchin on Pexels.com

To understand a thing you must know where it originated from. If it is broken, you must know the creator or have the manual in your possession, if you are even considering the thought of fixing it. If you want to bring it back to its original form, you more than likely have to take it to its original manufacturer. We seem to understand this when it comes to material and inanimate objects. We know that if the blender is not working, we can take it back to the store. We know that if there is a malfunction with a BMW we take it to BMW garage which will obviously have the parts that we need. But who do we go to, as humans, when we are lost, broken, rotten, tattered and torn apart, as human beings? Who is our originator?

Who do we go to when we have hit rock bottom, when the pain is too much and we believe that life is not worth living? Who should we run to when we can no longer keep up the pretense, falsehood and appearances? Where do we turn, when we have been rejected by all, when nobody understands us, and when we cannot find truth in or support from those in our sphere of influence? I can tell you who, our Master Craftsman, God. But we do not, most of the time. We want a quick fix, and we unwisely search for the wrong manufacturer and the wrong manual. We either conveniently forget, reject the truth that He made us, or, are absolutely ignorant of it.

We take our precious spirits, minds, hearts and souls to the wrong manufacturer or garage. How can God possibly fix, deliver and restore us? Some of us believe that He does exist, but that He moves too slowly, so we find our own ways to help Him help us, instead of leaning into His wisdom and His guidance, doing things in His own way and His own time. He knows how to rebuild us.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.  ~Ephesians 2:10(NKJV)

It’s quite challenging to wait on Him, this I know. But, I also know that it is far better to wait on “slow God”, than to make decisions which will only get one in a bigger mess and a worse tangle. When all your parts are falling apart, come to Him! He knows the seasons and the times. He sees everything before it happens and before it ends. He knows how, who, what and when. Times and seasons change, but he is unchanging.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.                                                                                                                         Ecclesiastes 3:1(AMPC)

Therefore, it is better to yield to Him and ask for divine guidance. Stop all the science, the philosophy and the intellect when you are in total darkness and at a loss for words. There is a time for all those schools of thought, but the fight for your life, the battle for your soul, is not one of those times. This is the time for the Master Craftsman to step in and transform your life in the way that only He knows how to do. Put your ego and your human wisdom aside when your life is at stake. Allow the all knowing God to undo you, and put you back together again. He knows all your parts. He knows your feelings, your thoughts, your shame, guilt, insecurity, anger, envy, jealousy, covetousness, selfishness and all the parts about you that you have built and acquired that are now bringing you down and pulling you through a dark tunnel. He knows your deeds in the dark but His mercy will carry you.

You have made all kinds of smart plans, had all sorts of what seemed like beneficial ideas, but none have played out as you imagined. Even the folks you thought you could lean on did not have the stability, the strength, the stamina, the know how, to keep up with and handle your groanings. And now you find yourself all alone. These are the moments that you look up for His help. God has been waiting for you all along, and knew this moment would come, but He will never force you. He knows what, where and how to fix, with divine perfection, but as omnipotent and omniscient as He is, He will not disrespect your space or enforce His will upon your free will, which He created you with.

There is a hole in your heart, a pain in your soul, dark pressure on your mind, which only He can make beautiful. Believe it when I tell you this, for your own liberty and joy. Now is your time to permit God to fix all things pertaining to your life, mind, spirit, soul and body. This is it. This is when you allow Him to put the puzzle and broken pieces of your life together with skills and knowledge which only He possesses. Whether or not you believe in His existence, for your own good, don’t you think it’s worth a shot? You have given everything and everyone else a chance, yet here you are. Think about it.  He is not slow, He is thorough and perfect, biding His time with you so that you come to the understanding that He works not only in times and seasons, but in a way that at the end of it all, the most important thing from it all, is that you would have discovered that there is a part of you crying out for Him and only Him, and His unconditional love for you.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.                                                                                                                           Ecclesiastes 3:11(NKJV)

Better to stop fighting, start believing and ask God to begin His good work in you. You will not like His methods, His pruning and His pealing away the layers you have built, but compared to where you were heading, and where you would have landed, His ways are preferable because at least there is a guarantee that you are in the right place, with the right Person and in the right hands. God, the Master Craftsman, your Creator!

So, even though it appears crazy, and does not fit in to the code of conduct of this present world, turn to Him, before it’s too late. It does not, and will not make sense, compared to what you are used to, and it might draw mockery from those who have known you, as you take this step. But ask yourself, “what if this is the decision that prevents me from falling into complete destruction? Is it worth sacrificing my ego, my intellect, my philosophies, science and the opinions of others for the sake of knowing God Who can fix me?”

For your life, for your soul? Yes! It is worth the sacrifice. The Master Craftsman’s time and season is here, awaiting your approval, to come in, and take care of what you cannot utter, or even put into words.

Let Him in, dear friend, This is your life!

Original Magnificence!

man reading a book

Who do you say that you are? Do you know that you carry original magnificence in you?

There is what you call yourself, there is what people call you, and there is the name that God, who knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb, called you by. With your free will, you are in control of whose voice and name you choose to go by. Yours, people’s or God’s? What do you call yourself? How do you define yourself? What and who you choose to define you will determine your life. It will influence the choices that you will make, and those choices will become habit, and your habits will become you.

Who and what you allow allow and permit in your life will determine what you feed your spirit, soul and mind with. If you don’t know who you are, then others will give you a name, and usually it will be a name which they can use to control you and make you their puppet. If you are still unsure of how to define yourself, here is a gentle reminder to ask God, “who am I, truly?”

He knows who you are, who you need and what you need in this journey of life. Like it or not, He created you. God knows your strength, your weak parts, and your inability to activate the divine purpose and ability He put within you. He also knows that He originally created you with His own original magnificence, and will bring it out of you, if you seek Him for help. He wants to be able to do that, but you have to allow Him. It’s your choice. Gentle advise. Stop struggling alone, without Him, stop going round and round in insane circles that bring you negative and empty results. It’s not worth it, life is too short and time is not waiting for you. Forget about the moments you missed, don’t live in regret. God can, and will, bring you up to speed! Discover His purpose in you, answer the call and determine to press in and bury yourself into God and His magnificence and you will deliver not only your own destiny, but that of others. Like it or not, believe it or not, the truth is, many, God, people, Heaven and Earth, await your magnificence in Him. Shine!

Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me. If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” ~Exodus 33:12-13

People want us to bend this way, turn this way, do this, do that, be this, be that, talk this way, don’t talk this way, think this way, don’t think this way. It’s never enough for them. A lot of who they want you to become, is more about them than about you. For the most part, while they are asking you to change, adjust and adapt, and repeat, they are not doing anything about self-improvement or looking in the mirror, neither are they looking out for you, but only for themselves. Very, very few, are unselfish enough to discover who you truly are, what your real name is, and what that names means for you, and for the world.

God is saying, you are more than good enough for Me and I am ready to dust off the other names that pull you down. I want to bring out of you the name that will magnify the magnificence I originally created you with. There is a reason why God gave you the name He gave you. It was not a mistake. You are not a mistake. He deliberately formed you with brilliant magnificence, in accordance to His extremely unique purpose and plan for your life. That purpose is also connected to others. Their lives are at stake, waiting for you to discover, recognize and function in your original state. Wake up and get yourself ready!

At what point do you say enough is enough? At what point do you stop, think and say, “wait a minute. I have a name, and it is mine, I own it, and I get to choose who I become!”  When do you stop and define yourself?  How long will it take for you to realize that it is crucial for you to discover what you are made of and walk in the revelation of that knowledge? Hopefully, you choose to become someone wonderful, full of what I call the scarce commodities of love, patience, kindness, empathy and generosity. Hopefully, you become who God says that you are, FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE. ~(Psalm 139:14)

Choose wisely.

6 Among those who were chosen were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.

8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.

9 Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel, 10 but the official told Daniel, “I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your[c] food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.”

11 Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, 12 “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” 14 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.

15 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. 16 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.

                                                                                                               ~Daniel 1:6-15 (NIV)

A gentle advise. Go with, and by, what and who God calls you. It is the only reliable and steady way. He is unchanging, unyielding and unbending in protecting, guiding and leading you. He is relentless in bringing out His purpose within you. God has more hope for you than you do for yourself. He has more faith in you than you do in yourself.

Who do you say that you are? What are you feeding your body, mind, soul and spirit with? Go with God. Choose His magnificence in you.  Choose His purpose within you. Your true name is hidden in His purpose for you. Don’t allow yourself to be called by any other name. I speak to you from the heart, and I tell you, it is not worth being called and named by any other voice, not even your own, but by His and only His. People, circumstances, conditions, situations, traditions, cultures, trauma, tragedy, material things, jobs and titles, will give us another name. But only the name He calls us, will withstand every challenge, every other voice, and bring us into purpose-filled, victorious magnificence.

Choose wisely, dear friend. Choose wisely.

Faith Too Illogical Too Irrational

Photo by Nathan Cowley on Pexels.com

Illogical and Irrational Faith. That is what many of us lack but what many of us need. Stop rationalizing and ask. I know what the science says, but ask. I get it, it all seems useless and futile but press in, press on and ask. Faith is your gift. Faith is for all. Asking is for everyone. Stop the logic. Block the intellect, let go of the science, test illogical, irrational faith, and ask. Stop trying to do the math. Stop trying to fix the puzzle. You are out of your league, but your pride and ego have reared their heads. You must fix this yourself! Stop that.

Admit you do not know. Admit you do not have an inkling of what to do or say, because this one, this time, is beyond everything you ever learnt or known. It is beyond all the books you ever read, the pods you listened to, the YouTube videos you watched, the Facebook pages you scanned through, and advice from friends and family. This one needs some divine intervention, not the voice of society, school, college, research, the internet, and human logic. Not that they are bad but you are in need of something, someone divine. This particular situation demands that you ask in faith and believe that God, {yes, HE IS REAL), will answer you. Trust me, the way He answers will be well beyond your logic, thought or imagination. It will be well beyond any solution, logic, reason or results you would have come up with on your own or through the wisdom and knowledge of Man. Stop being your own obstruction and ask. Stop getting in your own way and ask.

Is there anything wrong with logic, common sense, science, college or research, or good advice from family, friends, colleagues, professionals and experts? No, of course not! But you and I both know that there are matters that are beyond human intelligence and human fixing. As intelligent as we are, some matters and issues of life only divinity, not humanity, can solve. Some are too deep, too complicated and too embarrassing. Few and far between will we find folks who are willing to hold our hand and walk through the fire with us.

Here is the question. How deep is your frustration? How deep is your pain? How deep is your agony? How long have you waited for an answer? What has this unsolved problem done to your life? What will this unsolved problem continue to do to you? What effects will it have on you and your loved ones? What effects will it have on your work, your dreams and your purpose in life? How long will this problem hold you back and how deeply will it trap you and hold you hostage? The longer you wait the worse it gets, so stop the logic, stop the reasoning and ask already.

Let your faith be too illogical. Let your faith be too irrational.

Value your life, soul, and spirit enough, forget about pride and ego, and ask.

Value your life, soul and spirit enough, forget about your public image, and ask.

Value your life, soul and spirit enough, forget about your title, and ask.

Value your life, soul and spirit enough, forget about your facades and masks, and ask.

Value your life, soul and spirit enough, forget about your wise plans, and ask.

Value your life, soul and enough, forget about trying to prove something, and ask.

Are you too dignified to ask? Ask for help.

Are you rich, are you poor? Ask for help.

Are you accepted, are you rejected? Ask for help.

Are you feeling too unworthy? Ask for help.

Are you feeling as though you are too far gone? Ask for help.

Have others told you not to bother? Ask for help.

Do you think it’s useless to ask? Ask for help.

Is it too irrational, too illogical to ask God for an answer, response, or solution? Ask anyway! Be irrational, be illogical. Shake off and unwrap yourself from a false sense of human security. Apply irrational, illogical faith.

We all need to ask. We will all find ourselves in these immeasurable moments of pain, frustration, illness, confusion, trauma and hurt, where no one can assist, heal or uplift us. In those moments, whether we like it or not, we will need the One who created us, who knew us before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs. We will need the One who completes and makes us whole. We will need the One who sees the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning. We will need the one who makes a way where there appears to be no way. We will need the One who makes the crooked path straight, in whose presence our mountains of problems melt like wax. We will need the One who at His Word, the oceans of problems part and create a path into victory for us. We will need the One who does not care where we have been, what we have done, who others say or think we are, who likes us or doesn’t like us. The One who loves us more than we can love ourselves, more than others can ever love us. We will need the One who sees our faith and does not leave us hanging but acts on it in ways that we cannot put into words.

Matthew 15:21-28 New International Version (NIV)

The Faith of a Canaanite Woman

21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

The Chiselers Will Come

One of the toughest things in life is to face who and what we have become. It is so much easier to point at, and blame other people, even when we know deep down that that does not take the pain, shame and guilt away. I have learnt that there is genuine mental, emotional and spiritual liberty, if I just confess to myself that I am the problem, or that I have a problem to solve and that it matters how I solve it. How I solve it will determine the outcome. Therefore how can I solve it so that the outcome is favorable to others and to me? Typically, we humans like to solve the problem in a selfish way, the way that it will benefit just us, and not others involved. It’s our quick survival instinct. But we should grow bigger and better than that. Others matter.

Usually the problem is a flaw in our character and our outlook on life, our judgement and perception, not reality, of other people. We all at some point carry unhealthy mindsets and opinions that have to be chiseled out of us. We hate the chiselers because they show us the truth about who we are, who we truly have become, but who we could transform into, a better person. It is extremely difficult to become the better person. It takes me introversion, self-permitting slow agonizing self-reflection of what is true and what is not. The deeper I search within me, the better I learn the lesson, the more broken I become, the more ego I lose, the freer I become. If I can be silent for one quick moment and not say the first thing that comes to my mind, if I can just hold back and control myself, walk away and ask myself the selfless questions, how should I respond, should I respond at all, how could I have prevented this, how can I handle it better, should I just let it go, or should I confront it, and if I do, how should I go about doing that so that it does not escalate, even if it means that it would be at my own expense?

The chiselers of life will come. Sometimes they trickle in, sometimes they are a storm, a rushing river, a massive wave. Some will be clear and apparent, while others will blindside us, pull the rug from under us and knock us down to our knees. Some will cause us to weep deep pouring tears, some will cause us to laugh like mad men in pain and frustration, and some will make us scream silently in agony, with no words to describe the torment within.

None of us can avoid or prevent the chiselers from entering our lives, but all of us can choose how we handle them. We can drown in them, we can develop unhealthy coping mechanisms, or we can handle them step by step, layer by layer, and emerge as beautiful beings, who have allowed adversity to bring out the best in them.

The chiselers will come at different stages of our lives, whether or not we are ready or prepared for them, and are unable to receive or accept them. Their timing is always terrible, and they do not seem to care about their effect on our lives. We have the power to decide and choose how we handle them, and who they transform us into. We can determine to come out beautiful in the end, or angry, bitter, snide, arrogant, insecure, cynical and manipulative, blaming others and never taking the reins of your life to turn things around for the better.

When chiselers come my way, I have learnt to turn to God, my creator, for grace, wisdom, courage, patience and humility. After all, He knows me better than I know myself. You cannot take a BMW to be fixed by Toyota, or vice versa, so take me to God, any day, any time, with whatever it is, He will fix me, set me straight, and put me on the right path. It is not easy when my carnal nature rises up in a situation and I have to tame her down and ask the Holy Spirit to give me strength to hold it together and not respond the way that I would truly like to. It takes power from within to keep silent when I want to give a piece of my mind. It takes courage to walk away when I want to confront. It takes humility to realize and admit that a particular chiseler has revealed to me that there are areas of my character that I still need to work on. It takes wisdom to know what to say, when to say it and how to say it. It takes deep understanding and mercy to see where another person is coming from and what might be causing their behavior. These qualities do not come naturally to us. They are developed and nurtured with deliberation.

The chiselers will come. God help us make the right decisions so that we can come out the better and not the worst when they chisel us. They are here for our good, not for our demise. They bring the lessons we need to learn. They come to remove the ugliness within us, and create kindness, patience, wisdom and understanding, qualities that bring us and fill us with peace, joy, love and strength and quiet confidence

The chiselers will come. It is better to yield to them and ask the question why are they here, than to resist. Resistance only makes it worse.

Yield to your chiselers, ask the honest questions, embrace the true answers and become free indeed.

Take the Risk and Enter

Take a step of faith, take the risk and enter. The worst that can happen is this.

You sing for joy.

You dance away your troubles.

You laugh like never before.

You cry your deepest tears.

You clap with sheer joy.

You express and experience uninhibited love.

You heal within and without.

Your problems melt away.

Your confusion turns into wisdom.

Your fear turns into courage.

Your prison walls break into pieces.

You find significance.

You realize how valuable and precious you truly are.

You recognize the beauty and power that lie within you.

You treasure every breath you breathe.

You appreciate every single day that you are alive.

You discover that you do not have to go it all alone.

You realize that there is One Who loves you more than you love yourself. God.

Those are all the worst things that can happen, so, enter. Take the risk. Find out for yourself. Don’t take my word for it.

Discover the breath of life.

Discover the rivers of living water.

Discover what it means to be free indeed.

Discover what it means to have life more abundantly.

Discover what it means to be VALUED!

Go ahead, take the risk, and enter. You’ve waited this long. You are still here, and He is still waiting. It’s really alright what others think, don’t worry about it. Imagine if you hesitate, and not enter because of other people’s opinions, and then one day you discover that they took the risk and entered. After all that talk and shaming you, they actually took the risk and entered, and received what you could have received, if you had just shut your ears to their mockery and taken the same risk and had entered into God’s Presence. And now here they are, enjoying His love, His peace, His joy, His deliverance and His divine blessings.

But you are still here, so take the risk and enter, my friend. It really is never too late, dear one. Enter into His Presence and breathe.

Breathe in divine strength.

Breathe in divine ability.

Breathe in divine peace.

Breathe in divine wisdom.

Breathe in divine courage.

Take the risk and enter into His Presence

There is nothing to lose, there is everything to gain!

Evolve into Healing

It is only the water that is spilled, the calabash is not broken ~ Mauritanian Proverb

Yes, life has dealt you many blows, but the fight is not over, you are still here. Yes, you are out of breath and giving up, but you are still breathing. Yes, you have lost many things, even people, but yet here you are. Yes, you lost your job, but you still carry your gifts, talents and skills. Yes, he walked away, but you are still fearfully made. Yes, she walked away, but you are still wonderfully made. Yes, the mistakes of the past are catching up with you and weighing you down, but you can shake them off and soar.

Evolve into healing! Only the water is spilled. Don’t drown in it. Your heart is raw and hurting, don’t say it is over. Your soul is ripped and aching, bounce back! Your spirit is shaken up, spread your wings. Your substance, your worth, your value are who you are, and not the water that spilled. The life experiences that made the water spill in your life came to chisel you into a man or a woman of character. They came to shape you, and conform you into recognizing and understanding who you truly are and direct you into your, purpose and destiny. Your future, your new beginning await you. You have not scratched the surface yet. Wake up from the weight, of self-pity. Rise up, from the dust of doubt, fear and anxiety. Steady yourself and shake them off. Find your feet, find your wings.

But those who trust in the LORD for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak. ~Isaiah 40:31 (Good News Translation)

Your life experiences spilled over, in the worst way possible, but you can fight to remain intact, spirit mind, body and soul. You do not have to succumb to falling into pieces. You do not have to lose your essence or waste your substance. You do not have to lose yourself, your soul, your mind or your spirit and yield to nothingness. Even out of nothing a thing can be created. Out of your pain and tragedy, beauty can be created.

Take your uncertainty and build something wonderful. Take your loss and create a blessing. Take your emptiness and birth something lovely into being. Take your heartache and evolve into healing. Take your agony and create joy. Take your pain and create sunshine. Take your darkness and create light.

Evolve into healing!

The Golden Glow

Get your glow. We search, search and search, yet we are still so very hungry. What are we searching for? Who are we searching for? Where are we going? If indeed there exists such a state of joy, peace and confidence, what is it about that state that will  create in us the condition to remain fulfilled, content and anchored, daily?  Is there in fact such a condition?

We search to ease our pain.

We search to ease our discomfort.

We search to get rid of our insecurities.

We search to quench our thirst for happiness.

We search to be filled with joy.

We search to find peace.

We search to find true love.

We are ever on this quest to fulfill this deep, fathomless, bottomless hunger, in our souls. In my search, I discovered that I was searching for myself. What I mean is, I was searching for my purpose in life. On the road to discovering myself, who I am and why I exist, I realized that the more I pulled away from all the noise and outside influence, and the closer I got to the living God, the closer I got to purpose. I needed the courage to look and tap within me. I needed courage to have faith in Him. When that happened, the happier, the stronger, the more confident, secure and peaceful I became. I realized that I have become wiser, steadier, bolder and more courageous. I smile, talk and laugh more. I am less inhibited, less fearful and not filled with anxiety.

Discovering who I am, what I am here for, has given me more hope, faith and the state of knowing that I have the power, in a humble way, to always land on my two feet. There is something about knowing what is within us; knowing what we are created with. I want you, my friend, to experience that state and condition. The knowledge of it will take you to heights of peace, love, joy and strength that you never thought possible. I cannot keep that from you. It would be selfish.

In that state of knowing, we touch and awaken purpose. When we continue to walk in our own purpose day by day, not trying to imitate and be like others, we start cultivating divinity within us. Divinity becomes our fort and anchor, so much so that we naturally become unshakable and unbeatable without trying, because now we know who we are, what our purpose is and where we are going. In this state we are no longer walking in empty, blind hunger, but in the fulfillment of continuously developing purpose and divinity within us. It is an illuminating, non-superficial, beautiful and wonderful thing!

We become less stressed and we reign in our emotions, and confront situations with wisdom, understanding, patience and insight; we think deeper and become less and less impulsive.  Even when we are shaken up, we are confident that we will overcome, because we have awoken purpose and divinity within us, and they always find a way to bring us back to the top and land us on our feet. Discover your own purpose, cultivate and nurture your own soul and spirit, allow divinity in you to rise up, and your hunger will be quenched. It will cease. There, my friend, lies the secret to your joy, peace and confidence. In place of the fathomless and bottomless hunger within you, will be birthed what I discovered, and what I call, the endless and fulfilling, golden glow.

Being truly and deeply connected to and with the living God, fills me with, the golden glow.

Interview and Writing Tips

About: I am a seeker and believer that we can determine to become more loving, kinder, and more patient towards each other. I hope that my reflections and workbook on, The Reminder: Quiet Power, Peaceful Confidence will provide a beacon of hope and inner peace to those who are struggling, who are lost, and who are ready to make a change.

How did you do research for your book? I did not research my book. I was actually making some soup for my husband and while stirring the pot, I felt a strange but golden stirring in my belly. I first ignored it, but it kept coming back, so I stopped and I questioned, “What is it?” And words and sentences started bubbling up inside me, so I stopped stirring and grabbed whatever piece of paper I could and started writing the words and sentences bubbling up inside me. That night, in between cutting onions, getting juice for my children, stirring the soup pot, The Reminder, Quiet Power, Peaceful Confidence was birthed. Unknown to me, all these years, I had conceived and was pregnant with a book; it had quietly grown inside me through my life experiences, without my knowledge, and was ready to be delivered. And so I pushed through the contractions, and here we are, with a book to assist myself and others to become better people.

In your book you make a reference to….   how did you come up with this idea? So I know that many have described things like writer’s block etc…but I never experienced that. I simply wrote and wrote as the words and sentences flowed, and then when they stopped, I stopped writing. When they started again, I wrote again. Any time any day anywhere, I just grabbed something to scribble on so that I would not forget. I simply remained humble and open to the message coming out of me and wrote. I didn’t question, analyze or try to be complicated and smarter or more intelligent than the message. I accepted and stayed true to it. I recognized its voice and purpose and stayed with it. The only real struggle I had was the title of the book; it kept changing as I tried to give it a title. It was only when I waited for the words and sentences inside me to stop bubbling up, and the message was completely birthed, that I was able to know what the actual title of the book was.

What made you write a book about…? I did not plan this book. I had no idea that it existed. I was making soup for my family, lol.

Where do you get inspiration for your stories? I have learned to wait for God to speak, and become familiar with when He starts talking. Soon as He does, I start writing or typing. I don’t waste time. The books that I write are not from my intellect or any self-proclaimed wisdom. They are here to bless me and bless others at a deeper level, and in a way that is divine, beyond mine and our humanity. I have learnt to walk in, and walk with Him, and learnt that He has a to do, a place and a time for everything, and if I stay centered in Him, I will sense what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and with whom if necessary, and then whether or not I understand it all, it does not matter to me anymore because I have grown to recognize and observe that He does everything with wisdom and unconditional love. If I let Him work through me, I become a better person, and I write deeper

There are many books out there about….What makes yours different? The Reminder, Quiet Power, Peaceful Confidence, encourages us to, quote, “Strive to make the brave choice. Look at the root of the problems and troubles and torment raging within you. Take your eyes off what others are doing and focus on cleaning yourself up and growing beautifully”.

The book speaks to the core of our being, assists us with looking in the mirror, and gives us the courage to look within, and the power to no matter, figure out our own identity in God, and be unafraid to become that beautiful person. It states, “Do not allow fear to make you become or act like anyone else but your better self”.

But it does not stop there, it tells us, to not hate what we don’t understand.

Therefore, The Reminder, Quiet Power Peaceful Confidence, embraces all people, all humanity, without judgment. Anyone can pick it up, because it is completely inclusive. The book’s main interest is for each and every one of us, regardless of where we are in life, where we have been, what has been done to us, our own mistakes, to become better people as individuals, and utilize the beauty that we have discovered within us to buoy up and uplift others. Quote, “Quiet Power, Peaceful Confidence, is an art because it takes a lot of practice. It is a gift because we benefit from it, and so do others”.

Do you ever get writer’s block? What helps you overcome it? Stay calm; be in tune with the message. Be authentic, be real, don’t immediately try to edit and fine tune, just write, and write and give the words a chance to flow freely. Don’t try to fix the words and message. Let the message remain true to itself. Don’t try to assert yourself in the message, just let it be. You will know when, what and how to tweak and clean up, what to add, remove or change, when the words and message are done flowing. Learn to walk away when the words and message stop flowing, take your mind off them and go do other things. They will give you nudge when they are ready for you to write again. Keep it simple and don’t stress yourself and create the writer’s block. Enjoy the moment and experience of writing, it’s golden, not dark and burdensome. Don’t struggle to impress. Breathe. Breathe.

Do you have another profession besides writing? Yes.

How long have you been writing? Since 2015

What is your next project? I am conceiving it, have an idea, but not ready to discuss it. I have to give it its own time to grow, and when it’s time reaches to be birthed, then we’ll all know about it. But not before then.

What genre do you write and why? I guess the world calls it religion, but personally I do not call it a religion. I believe that religion is man-made, but that God is more of a spiritual, emotional and mental personal relationship. God is not religion, He is a healer, a restorer and a transformer, but so many have been led to believe otherwise and have not had the joy of experiencing His UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. Many, in fact, do not believe in His existence. So when I write, I do not preach, I do not try to persuade, but I ask people to do the research and test God themselves. I ask them to find out for themselves. Unfortunately, those of us who believe in God have not conveyed His beauty to the world and His love for the world. All people hear is how terrible, horrifying and judgmental He is. So while I don’t preach, I talk about Him, I introduce Him, and it’s left to the reader, no matter who they are, where they come from, what their beliefs and life’s preferences are , to do what they will with what they have read. Nothing is forced. I would have done my job, but the choice will always be theirs, after all, we all have free will. Every book I write, recognizes that the reader has the power to choose who they are, who they should be, who they will become.

What is the last great book you’ve read? Because I have been writing, I have not been reading other books much. The reason is because I want my spirit, heart and mind to be clear of other peoples’ thoughts, words, ideas and opinions, so that I can clearly hear and purely write the words and message that flow through me, without the influence of what I may have read or listened to. The greatest book I have read, and am still reading after all these years, and that I will permit to influence me when I am writing is the Bible. I allow myself and my writing to be influenced by Biblical scriptures and stories. I desire for its beauty to flow into the lives of others, and it keeps me humble because I know where my gift is coming from and Who, God, is giving me the love, joy, patience, strength and boldness to do what I do, writing.

Do you snack while writing? Favorite snack? Lol, no actually I don’t. It would slow me down. I just zone in. However, I do eat like a wolf afterwards, with a huge grin of accomplishment on my face!

Where do you write? Anywhere! Dining table, bus, train, bed, park, anywhere the words and messages choose to flow.

Do you write every day? I only write when the words and message are flowing.

What is your writing schedule? None, whatsoever.

Is there a specific ritualistic thing you do during your writing time? I talk to the words and the message. I ask questions and I ask for guidance and pray that I am writing the words and message exactly and concisely as they are to be written, because I realize that this is not about me, and that is a huge and humbling responsibility to carry. I do not take it for granted.

In today’s tech savvy world, most writers use a computer or laptop. Have you ever written parts of your book on paper? All the time! Any piece of paper, no matter what size! I have also written on lots of say, Starbucks, or Au Bon Pain, napkins!

If you’re a mom writer, how do you balance your time? I am a mom of two, and no, I do not try to balance my time. My children come first. I have been blessed with the strength to be a mother and a writer. I have been blessed with the wisdom to let my children know that Mama is writing right now, what would you guys like to do while she writes? I am blessed that somehow they understand, and when they are in need of juice, snacks or food, Mama is still here to get up and prepare it for them. Then I go back to writing. I write while I make dinner. The Reminder, describes that as the onion moment, where I am writing but keeping my eyes, ears, spirit, soul and heart open for and to my children and their needs. I accept that and so there is no struggle. I am energized and refreshed for them, and enjoy every precious moment with them.

If you could go back in time, where would you go? Favorite travel spot? I love visiting Chincoteague Island in Virginia. I love it past, present and future.

Favorite dessert? Ah, that’s a tough one. I love food, period.

If you were stuck on a deserted island, which 3 books would you want with you? I am biased. I will need only one book that has several books in it, (smile), and that is the Bible.

What’s the funniest thing that ever happened to you? The scariest? The strangest? Laugh! Now you are asking for whole bunch of stories which will not fit this interview because we would forever be discussing the funniest, scariest and strangest things that have happened to me. I have so many that have shaped and formed me, so many layers…we would be here forever.

What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done? Writing and opening myself up to the world. It’s really hard; a very difficult thing to do. I would rather be on my couch playing with my kids and quietly being a mother. But I awakened to the truth that I am here for a purpose and the greatest way for me to serve God, my family and the world is to fulfill that purpose.

Any hobbies? Or Name a quirky thing you like to do. I love music and dancing for enjoyment and happiness, and expression of good energy. Just close my eyes and dance. I call it my happy exercise. I love sitting on my porch just listening to the silence and staring into space. I love meeting people and getting right into a meaningful conversation with them. I love looking up the definition of words and their synonyms, especially when I am in writing mode.

If there is one thing you want readers to remember about you, what would it be? I write for you, because God loves you and wants your beauty to shine.

I answer His call for me to write, because I love you and I want your beauty to shine.

You are precious, you are valuable, and you are worth it!

I do not take any reader for granted, and I am humbled by the fact I have been given a voice to sow healing, love, restoration, patience and kindness. Virtues which have saved me, and are still saving me in this journey called life.

To Write Your Heart

If it were an easy thing to do, to write your heart and express what truly, secretly lies within, we would all be writing. But writing about your heart, your life, your true story, is no easy feat. It is no child’s play. It is courage beyond courage. It is fear, sweat and trembling, but then the words pour out, and you begin to feel that sweet, blissful release.

Sometimes the tears come, sometimes the rage builds, sometimes the memories are too agonizing and the pain amazingly unbearable. But they are nothing compared to the unspeakable joy of sheer relief and potent release that flood through  a person, after it has all been expressed on paper. There is almost no feeling compared to the deliverance from the burdens that have been lifted from the soul, spirit, body and mind, through writing. It is the kind of healing and high that only the one who writes out their trauma and looks it in the eye, writes to let it go and lay it down, can understand.

To write your heart takes inner courage, deeper strength, divine release from dark, heavy memories, that bring depression, pain, suffering, insecurity, fear, again, rages and thoughts of suicide. To write your heart, your story, is a personal release. It brings transformation and transcendence into a greater and better place, not just for you, but for generations to come.

Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the LORD. Psalm 102:18 (NLT)

There is nothing light about writing your heart, your life, your truth, and your story, but it is not impossible. Whether you end up publishing it or not, it is worth doing.

Set yourself free!
